It can be very handy to be able to view other documents relating to an asset (or to a ‘model’), directly from within the software. These might include:
- Risk assessment.
- Inspection certificate (eg, for lifting gear).
- Service manual.
- User manual.
- Photo of the asset.
To do this, you need to either host the document on your own server / hosting package, or have it stored online by other means (see below). Then, link to it within the ‘linked documents’ feature in ToolFleet. You can find this under ‘Assets’ / ‘Linked documents’.
Links can be created either to ‘assets’, or to ‘models’.
Hosting documents online
If you don’t have your own server / hosting package, you could try one of these tips for serving documents online (links to external site):

Perhaps you would prefer to have your own website and online server for your firm’s documents. If you’ve not got a web hosting package in place yet, then to save you wasting valuable time shopping around, we can thoroughly recommend ‘BigWetFish’. We’ve been using them for many years (for a few different sites), and have always found their customer support absolutely second to none. Not only that, but their prices are a lot cheaper than most hosting packages, and their servers are very reliable.
