If an asset isn’t in use, you don’t need to inspect it regularly, and there’s less benefit in performing regular servicing.
In this instance, we recommend tagging the asset to indicate that it’s inactive. Ideally, you should do this physically (click here for more information on physical ‘tagging’ of assets), as well as changing the asset’s “in use” setting within ToolFleet.
To activate or deactivate an asset:
- Find the asset in the “View Assets” list.
- Change the “In Use” setting by ticking or un-ticking the box.
Note that when changing the ‘in use’ setting (using the ‘desktop’ interface), this is the only part of ToolFleet where you don’t need to hit a ‘submit’ button to upload your data. The change should happen the moment you click on the checkbox.
